US media: US military is pushing to spend $30 billion to pur

On April 22, according to a report by the Associated Press local time on the 21st, US military officials called for investing tens of billions of dollars in the next fiscal year to purchase equipment such as drones, air defense systems, and fighter jets, which have played a key role in the war against Iran.

According to reports, as part of US President Trump's plan to increase the defense budget to $1.5 trillion for fiscal year 2027, the Pentagon hopes to triple spending on drones and related technologies to over $74 billion, and invest over $30 billion in procuring more critical ammunition, including missile interceptors - whose inventory is severely depleted during military operations against Iran.

According to reports, the missile interception systems currently facing the greatest inventory pressure are the Patriot and Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) systems. The THAAD system is designed to intercept medium range ballistic missiles, while the Patriot system is used to shoot down short-range ballistic missiles and manned aircraft. Both systems were used to shoot down Iranian drones.

This $30 billion budget will also be used to purchase "long-range precision strike missiles" and "medium range capability missile systems" for use by the US military.
