ISLAMABAD, Sept. 8, (China Economic Net)- A diverse group of more than 60 participants, ranging from university students and academics to tech professionals and government staff, has gathered for a three-day Chinese language and culture training program that kicked off in Islamabad on Monday.

Launched by the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) in collaboration with the China Cultural Center in Pakistan, the program runs from September 7 to 9 and builds on the success of the inaugural four-day session held last month at the Department of Archaeology and Museums (DoAM) in Islamabad.

As the second edition of the “Language of the Eastern Silk Road- Bridging China and Pakistan, Celebrating Shared Cultural Splendor” series, the curriculum covers an overview of Chinese culture, Pinyin phonetics, character strokes, calligraphy, and traditional festivals, with the goal of equipping every attendee with basic greetings, selfintroductions, numbers, and simple everyday expressions by the end of the course.

Organizers said that registrations had far exceeded available slots, pointing to a surging and widespread appetite for Chinese language learning across Pakistani society, from government institutions to grassroots communities.

Bai Jie, chairperson of the PakistanChina Cultural and Economic Promotion Association, noted that the overwhelming response has reinforced their confidence to refine course materials, upgrade onsite arrangements, and diversify activities to boost overall quality. She also highlighted that many participants showed keen interest in modern Chinese lifestyles, sparking lively discussions beyond the classroom.
