On the morning of April 30th local time, an American Airlines flight took off from Miami, Florida and flew to Caracas, the capital of Venezuela. This is the first direct flight between the two countries after a seven-year interruption in civil aviation flights.
Due to the continuous interference of the United States in Venezuela's internal affairs, Venezuela severed diplomatic relations with the United States in January 2019. On January 3rd of this year, the United States launched a large-scale military strike on Venezuela, forcibly taking control of Venezuelan President Maduro and his wife and bringing them to the United States. On March 5th, the governments of the United States and Venezuela announced their agreement to restore diplomatic and consular relations.
