The Chinese commodity price index for September was 137.6 po

CCTV News: The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing released the September China Commodity Price Index on October 5th. From the operation of the index, with the arrival of the peak season for traditional production and construction, the accelerated landing of major projects, and the continuous improvement of manufacturing production and market demand, the prosperity level of the commodity market has further improved, laying a good foundation for the stable operation of the economy in the fourth quarter.

In September, China's commodity price index was 137.6 points, up 4.1% month on month and 22.9% year-on-year. Among the 50 bulk commodities monitored by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, 38 of them saw a month on month price increase in September. Among them, methanol, ethylene glycol, and coke had the highest increase, with month on month increases of 39.5%, 24.8%, and 20.4%, respectively.

Looking at different industries, due to factors such as the rise in international crude oil prices, tight supply of some products, and rising production costs, the energy and chemical price indices have significantly increased, with month on month increases of 14.8% and 13.7%, respectively. With the entry into the peak season of traditional production and construction, the acceleration of industrial transformation and upgrading, and the improvement of manufacturing and construction demand, the price indices of non-ferrous, black, and mineral products have all increased month on month.

Experts say that the commodity price index rose significantly in September, supported by the arrival of the traditional production peak season and improved domestic and international market demand, as well as cost push from international market price disturbances and tight supply of some commodities. To consolidate the stable and positive operation foundation of the commodity market, it is still necessary to strengthen the monitoring and risk prevention of key commodity markets, stabilize the supply of important energy resources, accelerate the establishment of risk sharing and benefit sharing organizational models and new interest linkage mechanisms in the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, enhance risk prevention and resolution capabilities, and further unleash the endogenous driving force of economic growth.
