Maputo, October 4 (Xinhua) -- Mozambican President Chappo said on the 3rd that agriculture is very important to Mozambique and hopes to further strengthen agricultural cooperation between Mozambique and China to enhance Mozambique's food production capacity.

Chapo made the above statement on the same day when attending the wheat harvesting ceremony of the Wanbao Mozambique Agricultural Park invested by the Central African Development Fund in Gaza Province, Mozambique. Chapo inspected crops and seeds such as rice, wheat, and corn in the agricultural park, and learned about the cooperation between the project and local farmers. He expressed his hope to promote this agricultural cooperation model to more regions in Mozambique.

Wanbao Mozambique Agricultural Park has been operating in Mozambique since 2012, planting crops such as rice, wheat, and corn in Gaza Province. According to Shao Jiayun, the general manager of the agricultural park, the park cooperates with about 350 to 400 local farmers every year, helping them increase their grain production by introducing excellent varieties, promoting agricultural technology, providing agricultural machinery and production guidance, and other methods.
